Explorations: An Ancient Greece Webquest
http://www.iwebquest.com/
Junior high or high school students
This Webquest contains several lessons that can be incorporated into a
language art classroom. One of the
lessons I liked was about Ancient Greece.
It has lots of example of the myths created by this civilization.
Immigration Webquest
http://sites.lps.org/wq29/
Junior high or high school students
This Webquest is about immigration. When teaching propaganda and persuasive techniques, I enjoy
working with issues that face society today. Many of my students are immigrates, so this is a topic that
comes up frequently. This site
provides the history of immigration and some really neat activities and
lessons.
Whyy: Across the Generations
http://www.whyy.org/generations/web.html
Teachers of all subjects and their students
This Webquest has information on how to create a Webquest plus lessons
on events in history. One of the
lessons actually has the students play the part of immigrants who are on a
journey to the North. There are
also links to several Webquests created by students in EDT courses that can be
used to teach lessons in specific subject areas.
Dangers of Tobacco Use: A Webquest on Persuasive Writing &
Speaking
http://infusion.allconet.org/webquest/Persuading_Kids_Not_to_Smoke.html
Junior high and high school students
Most teenagers have heard the warnings about not smoking. This Webquest is a great way to
incorporate these warnings and the art of persuasive writing and speaking. The students are given roles in which
they have to use their knowledge of persuasion and create a commercial that
discourages teenagers from smoking.
