The Freedom League

This webquest is a creative way for students to learn about government, democracy, famous people who shared the same ideas, historical awareness, and citizenship.  The students will learn about equality, freedom, and justice.  I appreciate the idea of giving the students a variety of ways to show what they learned.  It is easy to navigate and eye appealing.

Where Will We Go?

What a creative way to engage students in learning about weather than to plan a vacation for a ÒrealÓ person.  A teacher needs her students to help her choose where to go in the summer.  In the past she has not had great luck with the weather cooperating for her and her husband.  Students will research and learn about weather in a variety of states and then decide where the teacher will go.

Be a Website Sleuth

I especially liked this idea for the beginning of a school year.  It encourages friendship (since theyÕre working with a first grader), using the internet for enjoyment, and showing students what is available for them.  The four sites chosen for the students to look at are engaging and worth looking at.

Meet Jan Brett

Jan Brett is a very popular author.  Students will love this webquest because they are required to use her webpage, read her books, and do special activities with her literature.  Author studies serve many purposes and this webquest will certainly compliment a study of Jan Brett.

Pilgrim Life Adventure

This webquest allows and guides students to learn about pilgrims and how they traveled.  The students then design their own mode of transportation.  They also look into their past and learn about their ancestors.  It seems the students will be able to learn more by having the lessons focused on their life.

Inventors who have changed the world

Students really enjoy reading about who created what.  When I discovered this sight, I thought it was perfect for them to read.  I like the idea they have to present what they learn.  They will explore a variety of inventors, so it covers a lot of information in a short amount of time.
