Site Description: This site developed by the College of Education at the
University of West Florida gives a fairly text-intensive tutorial on some
of the basic functions using PowerPoint. It would be inappropriate
for younger students or adults with no or little prior background with computers.
For others, however, they might very well appreciate this fairly direct
introduction.

Site Description: This is another site developed by the College of Education

is fairly text intensive but might be just the right amount of direction

Site Description: James Hogg Middle School is in Houston, Texas. This
link takes to a page featuring student work. In particular, there are
a couple links specific to a greenhouse project that PowerPoint presentation
that students created about the project. The other link is of digitized pictures
that students could use in the presentation and offers a idea for creating
a image resource page for students working on digital presentations.

Site Description: This is an online magazine for people that make presentations
and are interested in hardware and software to make presentations. While
the focus is more business oriented, teachers can easily adapt concepts to
the classroom and this could also be a resource to show students the
presentations skills they are learning are indeed in demand and valued by

Site Description: This is another online magazine. This one has a fairly
wide swath in that "new media" can be any of the digital electronic devices
and software propelling us onward into the Information Age. One section
I think would be of interest to teachers is called Digital Radar which details
all the newest hardware and software on the horizon.
