page is a link to an in-service titled 2learn.ca Plagiarism Sleuth (Alberta, Canada)This site explains the significance of plagiarism for the K-12 classroom in general terms and to encourage discussion. Further in the site are excellent classroom resources and lessons for teaching research including a student self-checklist for accountability.
On the Educational Technology Journal site is this article by Jaime McKenzie, “The New Plagiarism: Seven Antidotes to Prevent Highway Robbery in an Electronic Age.” One of the solutions encourages teachers to analyze the types of research problems students are assigned. Perhaps a better assignment will solve some of the problem.
Robert Harris discusses why students cheat, how to learn more and teach about plagiarism, enforcing penalties for plagiarize work, and lists sites to use to check student papers. The primary audience is higher education educators, but is applicable for secondary level educators.

Doggerel – “poetry” about plagiarism Doggerel this is; student composed poetry about plagiarism. The poetry isn’t good, but the idea is great for teaching the frustration of someone else using your work or the consequences. Through form poetry students can identify with someone who worked hard on a website, artwork, etc. and is not getting credit or demonstrate what they have learned from a lesson about fair use.
The Nuts and Bolts of College Writing On this site are actual occurrences of plagiarism that ruined careers. Other examples give much to think about because they show that the fine line between what is plagiarism and what is not. This entire site has excellent information for writing papers.
