An exploration of Stanley Yelnets' world in Holes by Louis Sachar I got the picture HERE
Introduction         Stanley Yelnets knows that his no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather's
Tasks curse brought him to Camp Green Lake.  The camp is part of  the Texas Department of Juvenile
Resources Corrections.   There is nothing green and no lake.  Just holes.  Digging holes builds character.
Process At least, that is what the warden of Camp Green Lake says.  This ain't no girl scout camp!
Evaluation         Come and explore Stanley's world of stinky sneakers, holes dug exactly five feet wide and
Conclusion five feet deep, people named Zigzag and Armpit, sunflower-spitting Mr. Sir, a warden with
Extension rattlesnake fingernail polish, God's Thumb, onions, lizards and one hundred-year-old Sploosh.
Teacher's Notes Come take some basic lessons from Kissin' Kate Barlow in readin', 'riting, 'rithmatic and good
E-mail manners.  And help Stanley Yelnets IV break the long-standing Yelnets' curse.
Tasks Resources
We will begin the adventure by choosing a partner and roles for each student.  You will be either Stanley or Zero.
Stanley:  You will take down the information as Zero navigates the links to find out how to break the curse.

Zero:  You will navigate the web to locate the information that will help Stanley break the curse and find your mom.
Each pair of students will switch roles daily so that each student gets a chance to be Stanley and Zero.
Stanley and Zero will be exploring the internet to understand how Holes relates to their own world.   So lets start digging! We're going to dig up math, reading, writting, internet skills, and fun!
Stanley and Zero must dig 1 hole a day out in the Texas heat. Visit this website to answer a math question about digging these holes. Be sure and print out a copy of your results to give to the teacher.
