The Process

1) First go to the slide show at

http://www.desertrek.com/html/sonoran_photo_gallery.html

and take a picture tour of the Sonoran desert in order to familiarize yourself wtih the looks of the Sonoran Desert.

2) Then go to http://desertmuseum.org/desert/sonora.html

 Scroll down to the map of the Sonoran desert and use this map to pick your city. You will be able to use this for your map also so print a copy of the map while you are here. Pick a city that is in the boundries of the Sonoran Desert. Name the city. Give the country and state that it is in and include a picture of the map to show the location of your city. Also include the Longitude and Latitude of your city.

 3) Next go the the following site and pick an animal to research and color.

After you have picked an animal and printed a color page go to

and find out three interesting facts about your animal and the type of species it is.

4) Your next task will be to find a plant native to the Sonoran Desert at

http://www.desertusa.com/flora.html

You will pick a plant and give it's name, print a picture, tell 3 interesting facts about your plant and give the species of your plant.

5) Go to one of these sights and get five safety tips for surviving int he desert.
