The link below provides longitude and latitude locations for just about anywhere in the world.

            http://www.indo.com/distance/

Type in your city, followed by a comma for the park your leaving from.

And the city, followed by a comma, for the park you’re headed to.

Then, click “Look it up!”

You need two pieces of information from this page.

The first is the distance between your two locations as the crow flies.

Now, scroll down on the page to where you see your two entries.

You will be using longitude and latitude to create an ordered pair.

North and South will be for the y-coordinate and East and West will be for the x-coordinate.

We will only use the first set of numbers up to the colon.

In our example, 33:32:33N (N stands for North) will be translated as 33.

And 112:04:17W (W stands for West) will be translated as –112.

Our ordered pair for Phoenix, AZ will be (-112, 33)

Our ordered pair for Grand Canyon, AZ will be (-112, 36).

North is positive

East is positive

West is negative

South is negative
