lesson plans and resources more quickly and easily. Online since 1997, the site
has grown to more than 1000 pages!
This is a great source for free clipart, illustrations and photographs; the only condition is that they must be used for educational purposes.
This
is searchable directory of free online lesson plans and lesson plan resources
for all grades and subjects. Launched on May 1, 1999, LessonPlanz.com was
designed to provide an easier way for teachers to find online lessons and
teaching resources! By eliminating search results that aren't relevant to
teachers, you also save time.
Lycos Zone / Teacher Zone is wonderful collection of lessons and web sources to help classroom teachers teach, learn and communicate.

North Central
Regional Educational Laboratory (NCRL) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization
dedicated to providing research-based expertise, resources, assistance, and
professional development opportunities to educators and policy makers. This site is searchable directory that
educators can utilize to bring technology into the classroom. It includes lessons, technology
resources, articles, scoring guides and rubrics for student assessment.

No Child Left
Behind
No Child Left Behind is a site created by the U.S. Department of Education. This site highlights the new education law signed by President Bush on January 8, 2000 and offers tips for parents to support their child’s learning. I include this in my teacher resources as it seriously impacts teachers today.
Reading Online
This is an online journal of K-12 practice and research, published by the International Reading Association. Articles and other sources highlight the use of technology to support literacy in the classroom.

classroom teachers. This website includes free lessons and activities, product

Ask
Dr. Science is a humorous, yet not quite scientific, site where Dr. Science
answers your science questions, such as: Why doesn't a boiled egg turn
vaporous?
This good science site is somewhat slow to load at times and features daily activities and information on the television show. You'll need the free Shockwave plug-in to get the most of this site (for more information about Shockwave, see the multimedia section of this book).
Presented
by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, this "cool science" site
helps students explore the biology of plants and animals. Includes instructions
on making science projects.

Great Plant Escape presents plant life science lessons. There are six
"cases" all dealing with plant biology. Good for upper elementary.

great site, it is one for all teachers! The JASON Foundation for Education,
which was founded to administer the project, sponsors an annual scientific
expedition, which is the focus of an original curriculum developed for grades 4
through 8. During the expedition, students can take part in a live, interactive

Featuring
science lessons, exhibits, and experiments, this site covers physics, biology,
chemistry, and other areas. It is useful for teachers and students.

Playground is
an interactive computer game designed to help children seven to ten years of
age learn to critically evaluate commercial Internet sites. The game helps
children recognize invasive and deceptive online advertising techniques –
to understand how online advertisers can manipulate them. It stresses how
important it is for children to protect the privacy of their personal
information and that of their family and friends – so they won't be
marketing targets, and so they can be safe on the Internet.
