VOYAGE TO TITAN

Grade Level: 9-10
Description: This is a very good lesson plan. Students will use this lesson to research facts about Titan by going to The Nine Planets. It has extensive and excellent text and images. Some pages have sounds and movies, extensive links, and additional references to related information. Therefore it takes a constructivist stance. Weaknesses: No built in assessment and no cooperative learning. Numerous information on the solar system and interactive, therefore I highly recommend this one day activity.

The Contributions of Women to Science and Mathematics Past and Present
Grade Level: 7-12

Description: This is an excellent lesson plan. It is designed to give students a more accurate idea of the contributions of women to math and science. It is interactive, collaborative and meets the constructivist stance. Although there is no built in assessment, I still highly recommend this one or two day activity in any math or science class!

Grade Level: 11-12

Description: This is a good lesson. This lesson gives students the opportunity to participate in a poll regarding whom they would vote for in an election. It discusses a random sample, margin of error, what goes wrong in an election, and what numbers tell us. It is student centered, highly interactive, uses critical thinking skills, additional references to related information, and is highly interesting. It even gives you the results of the poll, and takes a constructivist stance. Definitely has a real-life connection. I highly recommend this one day activity.

Carolina Coastal Science
Grade Level: 9-12, 6-8, or K-5

Description: This is an excellent lesson. It is an innovative, inquiry-based, science resource that utilizes interactive technologies to explore science in coastal Carolina designed specifically for an Environmental Science component of an elementary, middle school, or upper secondary science curriculum, it may be used in different curricular areas. It has a constructivist stance. I highly recommend this one!

Nicotine
Grade Level: 6-12

Description: This is a excellent cooperative learning lesson on nicotine. It discusses why it is so hard to quit smoking, nicotine addiction, even has an FAQ on smoking. It is student centered, highly interactive, has additional print and extensive Internet resources, extension activities and is highly interesting. It takes a constructivist stance and definitely has a real-life connection. I highly recommend this two day activity and would definitely use this in my class!
