I have selected 5 websites to evaluate based on criteria selected by Dr. Alice Christie for EDT 555, Advanced Website Design at Arizona State University West. The websites I have chosen to evaulate are all websites of previous TICG grants. Following the evaluation of these websites, I will be building a website for a new grant for the Teaching of American History for Creighton School District. My rationale in evaluating these websites is that I will learn more about what content belongs on a grant website and also to find out what audience most of the websites are designed for.

The websites were evauated on 5 categories: Use of color, use of graphics, organization/structure of data, ease of navigation, speed with which pages load, overall quality. Each category will be rated according to the following scale:

Reds, blues, and yellows, with a white background and black text. Simple looking and not distracting. | ||

There is not a lot of content on this site, and therefore lacks a sophisticated organizational structure. | ||

Pages take too long to load, especially the home page. | ||

Purples and yellows are slightly gaudy. There is not consistency throughtout the site with colors of links. | ||

This site has a lot of information. Navigation and organization is evident, though not "exemplary". | ||

Most pages load quickly. | ||
