Use of Color: Back ground is light gray with black letters. There is very little variation with the website's colors.
Graphics: The Home Page for this school has a large picture of the school. The page is not viewed in one screen, scrolling is required to see the entire page.
Organization of Data: Organized by Teacher, Administration, Departments, Calendar and School Report Card. Most of the pages are under development so this is not a great example of a school website.
Speed with which pages load: Fairly quickly.
Overall Quality: On a 5 * system, this would receive a 3 * for organization and use of color with 0 * for information contained in the website.
Use of Color: Great use of colors: blue, maroon, and light gray. The colors do not interfere with the reading of the website.
Graphics: Very few graphics but are used well as banners to identify what page the reader is on.
Organization of Data: Excellent!!! This website has a multiple-page layout whereby readers can go to a student announcements page, grab the date needed and read the announcements. Additionally each teacher has a webpage, administrators, sports, community. Everyone is represented.
Speed with which pages load: Exceptional
Overall Quality: This is an outstanding example of a middle school website.
Use of Color: Black background with red letters (very hard to read). Some pages are written in yellow which is a little easier to read.
Graphics: There are lots of animated graphics on this website. A message scrolls in the status bar. The graphics are very distracting.
Organization of Data: Data is orgranized in a "book" format whereby you would go from one page to the next. If you want to skip around the site, you would need to revisit the home page each time. The home page requires the reader to scroll down to see additional options.
Speed with which pages load: All of the pages load quickly.
Overall Quality: This is not the best website and should be given a 2 * score overall.
Use of Color: Background is a marble blue with black lettering making this an easy on the eyes site. A bright red banner is at the top of the home page with a logo repeated on additional pages to indicate that you are still on the school's homepage.
Graphics: Limited use to banner and logo
Organization of Data: Organized by grade level (6, 7, 8), departments, parents, administration, community, students assistance, teacher resources
Speed with which pages load: Very quickly
Overall Quality: This is a very well organized web site containing much information for the student, teacher, parent and outside community. I found a few great curriculum ideas and will link to this site for my instruction planning. 5 *
Use of Color: Light blue background with multi-colored school name in home page title. Links are blue or black and underlined. The main portion of the page is light yellow with black text.
Graphics: Photos are used in the website along with the mult-colored school name.
Organization of Data: School news, Directory, School-wide projects, honors and recognitions are contained in a frame on the right hand side.
Speed with which pages load: Very Quickly
Overall Quality: Very good quality of the website, very informative. 4 *
Use of Color: Background is a light pink with the text black. Buttons are used in a table format to access different areas of the website.
Graphics: Very few graphics are used this is a basic nuts and bolts website. Animated graphics are contained on a few pages without being distracting.
Organization of Data: Faculty is listed alphabetically, a few departments are represented on the home page as well as "Acellerated Readers" program. PTA has a button to its page as well as a page for "Hints to Parents", school activities and calendar.
Speed with which pages load: Very quickly
Overall Quality: Overall, this school site is very basic and easy to read. Easy on the eyes. Not a great deal of information is contained within the website. 3 *
Use of Color: Beautiful (they use blue with Black text - my personal favorites). Colors are consistent throughout and are easy to read.
Graphics: Good use of interesting and appropriate graphics. Not too many and very few animated.
Organization of Data: This is a cool part of their site, they have a link to locate middle school all across the United States. Very logical and easy to navigate.
Speed with which pages load: Very quickly
Overall Quality: Very cool!! 5 *
Use of Color: Lots of colors - primary (blue, red, yellow) and the backgrounds are easy on the eyes. The navigation system does not have typical underlines, mouse over would be very helpful to identify which items are in fact links.
Graphics: Photos are used throughout the site. Few graphics are used appropriately.
Organization of Data: Community, Faculty, Parents, and Students are represented within the site. The page does not fit the viewing screen.
Speed with which pages load: Very quickly.
Overall Quality: Very nicely composed. The text used is more on the elementary level.
Use of Color: YUK - Bright blue background with Yellow and links are light blue with underlines.
Graphics: Appropriately used and relate to page. Staff photos are not high quality and appear to not have been resized using a photo program.
Organization of Data: Data is only organized by resources for kids, teachers, and sports enthusiasts.
Speed with which pages load: Not as quick as the rest of the sites reviewed
Overall Quality: Not much effort put into this one. 1 * (at least they have a site)
