Creating Pop Up Menus in Dreamweaver

  • Create a Navigation Bar with Up and Over Images
  • Be sure to specific Vertical or Horizontal in the Navigation Bar Window
  • Click OK when you are finished creating the Navigation Bar
  • Highlight the first image in your Navigation Bar that will become a Pop Up Menu
  • Open the Tag Inspector Panel
  • Select the Behaviors Tab
  • Click on the Plus Sign (+) to add a Behavior
  • Select Show Pop Up Menu
  • The Show Pop Up Menu Dialog Box Appears
  • Complete each option under the four Tabs
    • Content
      • Name of each section of Pop Up Menu
      • Order of Pop Up Menu
      • Level of Pop Up Menu
      • Link for each section
      • How link works (same window, new window, etc.)
    • Appearance
      • Color, size, style and orientation of fonts
      • Backgrounds colors
      • Choice of vertical or horizontal Pop Up Menu
    • Advanced
      • Control of size, borders, border color, and delay time of Pop Up Menu
    • Position
      • placement relative to image in Navigation Bar
  • If you close the Dialog Box before you have completed each option, double click on the appropriate behavior in your Tag Inspector Panel
