Color

 The site lacks a color theme. The opening page is hideous looking.   Many pages are filled with odd backgrounds that cause the page to load slowly.  Many times the background colors clash with the type or banner on the page. Few white spaces.

Graphics

The graphics used on the Exploratory page were nice and linked properly to each elective teachers page.  Some graphics were were not sized appropriately and  caused the pages to load slowly.

Organization

The site does have a table of contents to the right with its own scroll bar. It is set up so teachers can add their area.   Many of the links don't work. There are no navigation tools on the pages to take the user to the home page.  No contact available other than phone numbers.  The site has not been updated because teachers who no longer work there are still featured. 

Speed

I grew old waiting for the site to open and even older waiting for each of the pages in the site to open.

Overall Quality

Definitely a work in progress.  So far the quality is poor, with a few pages that are the exception.

Color

 Desert photos are the theme and are used throughout as backgrounds.  These photos cause the pages to load slowly.  Many times the background clashes with the type on the page.  Few white spaces.

Graphics

Too many animated GIFs on the opening page and again on the teacher teams page.  Gaudy and distracting.  The home button looks different on several pages.

Organization

Easy to navigate, home page is organized and easy to follow.  Offers contact through e-mail.  The site has not been updated in several years.  Teachers who have not worked there in over two years remain on the site.

Speed

Speed is slow due to the many desert backgrounds and animated GIFs.  The sports section offers team photos that  are too large, they should be thumbnails so it would open faster.

Overall Quality

Needs work.  Nice overall organization.  Just needs someone to go in and update it and fix a few things.

Color

Nice theme use great use of white space.  Yellow and orange scorpion theme.

Graphics

Nice use of graphics, pictures that were used are sized appropriately.

Organization

 Easy to follow.  Pages look basically the same so you know they belong to the site.  Each page offers navigation choices.  There are contact by e-mail, last updated, and home sections available.  Sections such as homework have been set up for teachers to use as needed.

Speed

Each page loads quickly.

Overall Quality

This site has a nice start and is a work in progress.  It is obvious that the designer knew what he/she was doing. 

Color

Red and blue theme used.  Nice use of white space.

Graphics

Only one graphic used, banner style at the top of the page.

Organization

The whole site is located on a single page.  There is a table of contents to the right that anchors to places lower on the page.  No contact, update, or top of page navigation.

Speed

The site opens very fast.

Overall Quality

Lacks personality.  The site contains basic textual information.  No pictures of children or school.  No teacher pages.  It seems as though the district created all the school's pages and will not allow any creativity.

Color

Attractive green and white theme.  Green and white grid lines are a nice background with the same solid green as a border.

Graphics

The school mascot, a ram is shown on the upper left hand side of the opening page.  Photos are sized appropriately. Limited and tasteful use of graphics.

Organization

There is a table of contents at the top right hand portion of each page.  Bottom navigation buttons, copyright, and updates are present.  Teachers are given their own page.  Each page offers an abundance of information without seeming too full of text.

Speed

Each page loads quickly.

Overall Quality

What a wonderful example of a fully working school web site.  I loved it!

Color

Blue, gray, and yellow colors were used with plenty of white space.  The colors complimented each other and were easy to look at.

Graphics

Photos were sized appropriately.  One movie was offered on the index page, unfortunately it was too slow to be viewed.  Nice choice of photos.  Limited use of graphics created a site that was created tastefully.

Organization

Left hand table of contents. Offered contact information, copyright, and bottom navigation bars. Easy to navigate

Speed

The site loaded quickly.

Wonderful, high quality site.

Color

Except for the Falcon's wing on the opening page, the site is all black and white.  The site is easy to read because of the use of white space.

Graphics

The Falcon 's wing on the opening page is the only graphic.

Organization

Organization is good, there are plenty of places for information to be added.  Only one page appeared to have a bad link.

Speed

The site's lack of graphics allows the pages to open quickly.

Overall Quality

It is evident that the site is new.  It has been put in place to allow for teachers and school staff to add information to it.  Great start to a school site.

Color

The overall color palette is red, gray, and black.  The main pages also have a nice background of thunderclouds.

Graphics

There were a few pages that seemed to have excess animated graphics.

Organization

There is a navigation side bar on every page that allows the user to choose where to go.  Contact information is available along with interactive forms that allow parents to receive newsletters through email.  Extremely well planned and easy to use navigation.

Speed

The background keeps the site from loading quickly.

Overall Quality

The site is complete and looks very professional.

Color

Inconsistent use of color.  Each page offered a large variety of color.  The opening page contained a strange blend of primary colors along with pastels.  Some pages were difficult to read because of colors that were used.

Graphics

A large graphic is located at the bottom of the opening page that is supposed to be used to display the weather at the school.  The graphic is not working and is displaying html on top of the graphic.  Several other graphics that seem to serve no purpose are used throughout the site.

Organization

This site does contain nice organization.  There is a side scroll bar that offers menu options. The site does contain contacts and shows page updates.

Speed

The site is slow loading due to the large variety of backgrounds used on almost every page.

Overall Quality

Overall the web site is too busy looking for me.  Its content is ok, but could be improved by adding working links to the weather graphic.

Color

Nice color theme of black, red, and white.  Plenty of white space kept pages easy to read.

Graphics

Opening page has a nice banner with the school name and pictures of hawks.  Graphics were used minimally.  Site offered lots of photos of the school and students.  Photos were sized appropriately.

Organization

The opening page fit nicely on the screen, there was no need to scroll.  Last updated, contact, and web designer were all available.

Speed

All pages loaded quickly.

Overall Quality

Simple and elegant school site.
