Edith

I come from a very hard working family. My parents immigrated from Mexico to the United Sates while they were in their teens. I have one older brother, three younger sisters, and an identical twin. I was born and raised in the west side of Chicago. My family lived very humbly for many years so that my father could save up money in order to start his own business. My father's restaurant turned out to be such a success that he opened another a few years later.

I learned how to speak English while in preschool. By the time I entered kindergarten I was fluent in both English and Spanish. At home I spoke only Spanish and at school only English. In regards to school, I've always been at the top of my class. In the summer of 2000, I got the opportunity to travel to Australia and New Zealand as a student ambassador. I graduated from High School in the summer of 2001.

I got married straight after high school. My husband is an Air Traffic Controller for the U.S. Air Force. He is currently stationed a Luke Air Force Base in Arizona. This is the reason why I am now attending ASU West. I plan to major in business management.
