Melissa

In Golden Valley, Minnesota two loving parents brought a baby into this world. That baby was me, Melissa. By the time I was three, we had become resident Phoenicians, and have lived in Arizona ever since. I am an only child and live with both of my parents, two dogs, a cat, and fish. My family and I are very close, as are my friends and boyfriend, and they stand by me whenever I need their support.

I attended elementary school at Sahuaro Ranch Elementary, where I became very active in sports. By the time I was nine years old, I began playing on a twelve year old and under club softball team. After elementary school, I attended Ironwood High School where I graduated in May of 2001. While attending high school I continued playing softball, and received my varsity letter all four years. My senior year, I was selected as a member of the 2001 all region team, and chosen to play in the senior all-star game. I am currently an assistant manager at Clothestime, a junior fashion store. I hope to eventually receive my business degree and enter into either public relations, or accounting.

Upon receiving my degree I would either like to stay in the fashion industry or enter into a more business-oriented field. I would love to be a public relations or marketing director for a clothing company. However, I would also like to enter into the business world and eventually become a top executive for a major company.

My Role in The Freshman Experience Web Site

Nick H. and I created the letterhead. We used the freshman picture and resized it to create a background. After that, we changed it to a watermark in order to make the typing over it noticeable. I was also on the Data Manipulation team. We worked on creating graphs and finding data. We merged with the other data manipulators to work more efficiently and effectively. We are currently creating graphs, e-mailing people to find data, and turning numbers into useful information for the Freshman Experience Web Site. Using our letterhead, I wrote thank-you letters to those who helped with the project. Finally, I wrote portions of the text for our Freshman Experience Web Site.
