I was born in Phoenix, AZ and have been raised here ever since. I grew up with an older sister and three older brothers, which was always tough being the youngest of five at the bottom of the chain. I started out my education in kindergarten at Ironwood Elementary and worked through middle school at Desert Foothills. Finally, twelve long years after the start, I graduated from Greenway High School; completing my lower level of education.

While at high school, during my senior year, I decided it would be wise to consider attending college. At first, I had figured the twelve years I had already endured from elementary to high school was plenty of volunteer work, seeing as I wasn't paid for my time. In my senior year, students individually met with counselors to discuss the idea of college and how it could better our lives in the future. I was willing to listen and after looking through brochures and hearing speakers from ASU at our school, I decided to become a Sun Devil. One obstacle in my way was that the main campus was in Tempe and my job at Discover Card was in Northwest Phoenix. Since I didn't qualify for financial aid, I found that Discover Card would reimburse me for tuition, books, and any college fees. I liked that, but the idea of commuting every day from Tempe to my job would be unbearable. Finally out of pure luck, I overheard that ASU West, just minutes from home and work, was forming into a four-year university that would have all I needed for my degree in business. With good research and some luck, I'm now at ASU West, studying for my business degree, with everything paid for.

My Role in The Freshman Experience Web Site

My role in the Freshman Experience Web Site was to monitor all of the separate groups and watch their progress and make sure we are on schedule to finish each part of the project. I have spent much of my time helping one of the students in class who is having some trouble with his assigned work, but working with him we have made great progress and are on time to finish.
