AI area specializations enhance the academic student experience at ASU West. In addition to filling space on a resume, AI specializations often allow student specialists to relate their Amnesty International work to their coursework and thus complete academic assignments, gain knowledge related to individual areas of interest, and support the cause of international and/or community human rights.
Many area specializations relate to JUSTICE STUDIES. However, some also relate to diverse subject areas like BUSINESS and ECONOMICS, MEDICINE, the ENVIRONMENT, LAW and a variety of other SOCIAL SCIENCE programs. Other specialized areas are associated with a wide range of SOCIAL and CULTURAL backgrounds, such as ETHNICITY, GENDER, RELIGION and LIFESTYLE.
Area specialists are expected to represent the AI-ASUW club in programs related to their area of specialty. New Area Specialists are expected to use the links listed below to gain an initial understanding of the AI perspective on their specialty and then go beyond AI resources to gain a more complete understanding of the issues related to their area specialty.
