for Locating Video/DVD at
ASU
An effective way to search for videos in
the ASU Libraries Catalog is using a keyword
search. When doing a search on your topic of interest, be sure to
include the word 'videorecording'. This will limit your results to video
materials. For example:
If you wish to find videos that can be shown in public,
add the phrase "Public Performance Rights" (in quotes).

Documentary
examining the clash between the trend of increasing economic globalization
and international human rights advocacy. Investigates the impact of
foreign economic influence on gold miners in South Africa, the petroleum
industry in Nigeria, the collapse of the economy of Indonesia, child
labor abuses in Thailand and the situation in East Timor. Includes public
performance rights.
Through the Wire

An
investigation of the treatment of three female prisoners, Susan Rosenberg,
Silvia Baraldini, and Alejandrina Torres, who were sentenced to prison
for non-violent, politically motivated crimes and placed in a controversial
high security unit of a Lexington, Kentucky federal prison from 1986
to 1988. Human rights groups interceded in the prisoners' behalf and
the unit was finally closed down and the prisoners transferred to another
prison. The film includes reports from Amnesty
International.
