Drug Use Among Adults Arrested by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department

Results from Maricopa County/Phoenix, Arizona’s Arrestee Drug Abuse Monitoring (ADAM) Program show that male adults arrested by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department are more likely to test positive for drug use than females. Specifically, males are more likely to test positive for marijuana, opiates and any drug use. Female arrestees in the Maricopa County are just as likely as male arrestees to test positive for cocaine, methamphetamine, and multiple drugs.
