Results from the Maricopa County Arrestee Drug Abuse Monitoring (ADAM) Program reveal a consistent rate of Marijuana (54%) use from boy arrestees over the first quarter of 1999 and 2000. There is however an increase in Cocaine use during this same time period. Although the overall number of reported results are small, they indicate that 13% of boys tested positive for Cocaine, a 6% increase from 1999. Methamphetamine and Opiate use remains minimal among boys in Pima County.

Results from the Maricopa County Arrestee Drug Abuse Monitoring (ADAM) Program show a decrease in the Marijuana and Cocaine use among girls from 1999 to 2000. Specifically, only 10% of girls tested positive for Marijuana during Qt. 1 of 2000 vs 50% during 1999. This pattern exists for Cocaine as well. Only 10% of girls tested positive for Cocaine during Qt.1 of 2000 vs 21% during 1999.
