Results from Maricopa county Arrestee Drug Abuse Monitoring (ADAM) Program show that during the first three quarters of 2000 boys were less likely to test positive for Marijuana (62% vs 58%) and Cocaine (16% vs 13%) than in 1999. However, there was a slight increase from 1999 to 2000 in Methamphetamine (5% vs 6%) use. Reported Opiate use remained minimal during 1999 (1.5%) and 2000 (.01%).

Results from the Maricopa County Arrestee Drug Abuse Monitoring (ADAM) Program show that girls were more likely to test positive for Cocaine and Methamphetamines in 2000 than in 1999. However, there was a slight decrease in Marijuana use (38% vs 37%). As with boys, Opiate use among girls remain minimal in 2000.
