1999 - 2000 Adult Findings Qts. 1-3

Pima County

Results from the Pima County Arrestee Drug Abuse Monitoring (ADAM) Program reveal that male arrestees in 2000 were more likely to test positive for Marijuana (45% vs 47%), Cocaine (39% vs. 43%), Methamphetamines (5% vs 7%), and Opiates (8% vs 10%) than in 1999.   Although increases are slight, this specific group of arrestees had increases in usage of all reported drugs.

Results from the Pima County Arrestee Drug Abuse Monitoring (ADAM) Program show very similar drug use among female and male arrestees.  Like their male counterparts, female arrestees were more likely to test positive for drug use during the first three quarters of 2000 than 1999.  Specifically, female arrestees were more likely to test positive for Any Drug (62% vs. 77%), Marijuana (25% vs 29%), Cocaine (44% vs 47%), Methamphetamine (9% vs 10%), and Opiates (10% vs 17%).
