Giving a Celebration Speech 

  1. Have a detailed outline in front of you
  2. Have a strong introduction
  3. Refer to the occasion
  4. Talk about the person of reason for the celebration, not about yourself
  5. Mention key figures
  6. Look and sound sincere
  7. Have a story to excite the audience
  8. Use a metaphor in the speech
  9. Pay attention to vocals (e.g., rate, projection, pitch, etc.)
  10. Mind your physical appearance (e.g., dress, eye contact, and posture)
