Delivering Your Speech 

  1. Dress appropriately for your topic and your audience
  2. Mind your posture by standing straight and looking confident
  3. Limit your gestures
  4. Remove distractions such as excessive jewelry or hats
  5. Smile and use positive facial expressions
  6. Vary the tone of your voice (e.g., rate, projection, pitch)
  7. Speak to all students instead of focusing on the teacher or one student
  8. Maintain eye contact with the audience
  9. Use your visual aids as support for your speech; do not allow them to dominate your speech
  10. Be prepared for questions by predicting what the audience may ask
