Maintaining Good Listening Skills 

  1. Maintain eye contact with the speaker
  2. Focus on the content and not the delivery
  3. Try not to get distracted
  4. Ask questions about the speech in your head to help stay focused
  5. Sit in the front of the classroom
  6. Try not to doodle because it interferes with listening
  7. Do not interrupt the speaker or someone asking a question
  8. Show that you are interested in what the speaker is saying by using positive body behavior such as nodding and smiling
  9. Do not assume you know what the speaker is going to say
  10. Take notes to help stay focused
