If you asked me what I came here to do, I would tell you I came to live out loud.

June
Started new job: Director of e-Learning for School of Global Management & Leadership at ASU.
Long title, lots of possibility.

May
School's out. So I'm hitting the road for much needed conversation with my (increasingly narrow) community of practice. Carefree, Payson, Flagstaff conferences. At least they're all in my beloved AZ.
PS: still toiling on changes to Ch 5.

April
Last chapter submitted. Working on NSF reviews, presentation for Sloan, for LOEX, for LearnTech SW. Like birds, academics love to chatter in the Spring.

Welcome. Greetings. Enter here. Hello traveller!

So glad you're here, however you arrived (sent, lost, wandered or 'the Google'). We all travel such digital, immediate and eclectic paths to wind up where we're going these days--but wherever we go, there we are. So here I am. If your life is like mine, you seek knowledge and meaning constantly and want it quickly. It's not what each of us know that now defines the elusive 'smart'-- it's that we can find knowing when we need it. This quiet place is not the place to find it. Try Twitter (carmean).

Although I might not have captured what you're looking for at the moment, if you want more social or negotiated knowledge, please write, tweet, Skype, IM or call. I love company, but have little time to linger and to make static the few things I have learned to be true. Plus, I've lost faith that truth is static or is today what I'll believe to be true tomorrow. So why write it down here in this semi-neglected place of asynchronicity? Most thoughts will soon be wrong, obsolete or insensible to defend.

I suppose I still have a few Webish opinions that are rant-worthy, and it takes all kinds but I've learned that I'm a scanner, but not a recorder. I'd like to study why that might be. Meanwhile, let me finish my degree and I'll see what I can do about adding my two linden dollars to the discussion later. It could happen. I too could begin sharing each fleeting, illusive, personal, opinion-moment. In another lifetime, mere moments away.

But till then I'm quietly here... and I know you're out there somewhere. Connect if you need me or have an opinion, question, rant or collaboration idea to share.
