Mission of the Partnership for Community Development As part of the College of Human Services on the West campus, the Partnership works to build collaborative relationships among public and private community organizations to address critical community needs. The Partnership is dedicated to improving the quality of life for residents of all ages in the communities in which we live and work by empowering community members to actively develop processes within their own communities to counter social challenges, and ultimately, increase their quality of life. The Partnership’s goal is to help shape strong and healthy communities – from the West Valley and metropolitan Phoenix, to our state and nation. In this era of shrinking resources, community agencies face unprecedented challenges in meeting existing needs, making it extremely difficult for them to devote time or energy towards planning for better futures. The Partnership for Community Development serves as a facilitator and incubator of new collaborations, partnerships, ideas, and strategic initiatives. The Partnership helps build connections that can turn into successful partnerships and coalitions for solutions.
