TRAVEL

Tucson International Airport is easily accessible to the conference site (10 minutes drive). All major airlines provide service to Tucson. Additionally, conference participants may fly into Phoenix International Airport and take a 1.5 hour shuttle from Phoenix to Tucson for $20.00 US.

INTRODUCTION TO TUCSON

Tucson is located in the southern part of Arizona nestled in a valley of five mountain ranges. It is about 1 hour from the Mexican border, 1.5 hours from Phoenix and 4.5 hours from Flagstaff and 5.5 hours from the Grand Canyon. Tucson thrives with a rich blend of American, Mexican, and Native American cultures and a nationally recognized arts community. Visitors appreciate the array of attractions within and surrounding the city including Old Tucson Studios, the highly rated Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum, the renown Biosphere, Sabino Canyon, and Mt. Lemon, containing the southernmost ski area in the continental U.S. The 350 annual days of sunshine compliment the relaxed Tucson lifestyle. Hotel Shuttle available: Hotel will provide continuous airport shuttle service on Saturday, October 7, every hour on the hour beginning at 10:00 am until 7:00 pm. Shuttle pick-up will occur downstairs outside of the baggage claims area at the shuttle stops next to the Park and Save stops. If arriving at the Tucson airport before or after those times, please contact hotel upon your arrival. When departing to the airport, notify the front desk at least 1.5 hours before departure. Shuttle service will also be available to and from the following additional hotels. Taxicabs from airport are approximately $15.00.

AIR TRANSPORTATION

Tucson Airport: Airlines flying into Tucson include Aero California, Aerolitoral, America West, American Airlines, British Airways, Continental, Delta, Northwest, Reno Air, Skywest, Southwest, and United. Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport: 1.5 hours from Tucson. Arizona Shuttle Service transports passengers between Pheonix and Tucson for $19 (U.S.) each way. (800)888-2749.
