Leandro Soto has been involved consistently in the art world for the past twenty-six years, participating in ninety-two group art exhibitions and 104 solo art installations and performances at national and international levels. He was a participant in the famous “Volumen Uno” art movement in Havana in 1981 as the first performance/installation artist in Cuba.

According to the critics, this group marked the beginning of a new period in Cuban art. He is an accomplished interdisciplinary and performance artist. His visual art creations are in permanent art collections that include: Art Museum of Fort Lauderdale, Lowes Museum, Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee Theater Research Institute at Ohio State University, Mount Holyoke College Art Museum, Wheaton College Art Collection, Manolo Rivero Collection, Angel Romero Art Collection, National Museum of Fine Art of Cuba, Cienfuegos Art Museum, Fototeca de Cuba Permanent Collection, among others. He has been the Artist-in-Residence at Arizona State University West since August 2002.
