Ethnic Studies Internships
General Information

Living and working in the United States during the 21st Century requires a well-developed sense of our diverse society. Students completing their university training in Ethnicity, Race and First Nations Studies gain the knowledge and understanding on themes or issues in United States history relevant to the understanding of race, culture, and ethnicity. By examining these issues, students completing this program will acquire the knowledge and understanding of ethnic diversity which are essential in today’s global society and workplace.

An Ethnicity, Race, and First Nations Studies internship integrates the student’s academic training into practical situations in business, government, education, museum, and foundation work, journalism, and other careers that highly value academic training. As well as helping explore career options, an internship can be an excellent stepping-stone to employment. The on-site supervisor might become an important reference on employment applications and the student could even be recruited by the company/organization that made the internship available.
