Courses Taught: History of the Philosophy of Math, Mathematical Structures, Introduction to Geometry, Geometry for Teachers, Abstract Algebra, Theory of Numbers. 
This course examines the nature of mathematics from origin to the present, revealed by its history and philosophy. Strong background in mathematics is not required.
Introduction to Geometry (MAT 310)
This course covers congruence, area, parallelism, similarity and volume, and Euclidean and nonEuclidean geometry. Prerequisite: MAT272 or equivalent. Geometry for Teachers is a special topic offered for teachers.
Please note that MAT 310 will be offered in Fall '99 and then in Fall 2001, so make sure you enroll in it for the Fall '99 semester.
Research Interests:
The connection between logic and geometry,such as axiomatizations
of various geometries, Euclidean and
nonEuclidean; History of Greek and 20th century mathematics.
