Welcome
to the ASU West IIM Web Site!
This
Web Site is designed to give businesses, faculty and students access
to resources and information that will help them succeed both in the
workplace and in the classroom.
IIM Goals
Our
goal is to offer structured educational programs to prepare our
customers for the increasingly complex and global business environment
and help them develop skills to move across borders that are not just
geographical, but also organizational, cultural, and intellectual.
One of our highest goals is to secure
ongoing relationships and partnerships with local, national and
international businesses. We believe that public/private partnerships
provide an essential bridge between students, faculty, and businesses
for research, consulting, cultural immersion and career development.
The Institute has hosted a series of
seminars providing timely and relevant advice for organizations doing
business or considering doing business in Europe and the Pacific Rim.
Active U.S. and European practitioners and experts conducted
"Cultural Gateways to Business in the European Union," a
series of day-long seminars. These experts shared relevant information
on cultural issues associated with doing business in Great Britain,
Germany, France, Italy, and the Benelux countries.
"Markets and Marketing
Opportunities in Vietnam" brought a list of distinguished
speakers to the ASU West campus. This conference gave attendees an
overview of Vietnam’s investment climate, techniques of marketing to
Vietnamese consumers, and legal accounting and banking issues
associated with doing business in Vietnam. Participants included Le
Van Bang, Vietnam’s ambassador to the United States; Ha Hui Thong,
the number 2 official at the Vietnamese Embassy in Washington D.C.;
and Tom Valleyely of the Harvard Institute of International
Development in Cambridge, Mass.
