Smart
Meeting Rooms
Use a smart meeting room to help make your meetings more efficient and
effective. With the use of a computer and a projector, you and your colleagues
can:
- Develop and record consensus
- Reference Web pages and other on-line
materials to facilitate ideas and discussion
- View video programs that you want to discuss
- Receive satellite programs and phone in your questions
Smart meeting rooms have the following equipment:
- A ceiling-mounted projector and a projection screen
- A computer that has a connection to the campus
network and the Internet and is configured with standard supported
software. Typically, the computer has a wireless keyboard and
mouse to facilitate use at the meeting table.
- A VCR or VCR/DVD player
- A video broadband connection that permits tuning via VCR to any of
the television channels carried
on the ASU video network
- A telephone
- An amplifier and speakers (optional)
IT will work with any unit that wishes to convert an existing conference
room to a smart meeting room. The unit must pay for equipment (projector,
projector mount, projector cables and wall plate, speakers, computer,
VCR, etc.) and for projector maintenance. IT provides design and installation
services
at
no charge.
There may be a small charge from Facilities for their assistance in installing
a projector in a location that did not previously have one.
