Reporting Classroom Technology Problems
IT wants to do everything possible to help you and your students have
a positive classroom experience. We work hard to keep classroom technology
up and running smoothly, but we know that problems arise nevertheless.
We will respond immediately and politely to urgent calls for assistance
during class. We will also respond promptly to reported problems that
are not as urgent.
There are several ways that you can report problems and get assistance.
Call Technopolis
602-543-8278
This is the best way to get immediate help. If there is no phone in
your classroom, look for one in the corridor -- you should be able to
see one from your classroom door.
When you call, please be prepared to provide:
- classroom building and room
- your name
- the nature of the problem
If you have an urgent need, a technician will immediately be dispatched
to assist you.
If the problem does not need immediate correction, Technopolis staff
will see that it is entered into the log of things that need
classroom support staff attention.
If there is no phone
in your classroom, look for one in the corridor -- you should be able
to
see one from your classroom door.
Enter a Help Desk Service Request Online
You can use our online Help Desk service request system to report non-urgent problems.
There should be a shortcut for it on the instructor or presenter computer
desktop in your classroom.
When you use this system to enter a service request, the request goes directly into the system that IT uses to record and manage all requests
for service (HEAT), so
you
can
be sure we'll
get it.
You can also use the online Help Desk service request system to review status on problems previously
reported.
Write on the Whiteboard (Computer Classrooms Only)
If you want to report a non-urgent problem in a computer classroom
without using the online Help Desk service request system , you may write it on the whiteboard.
When Technopolis
staff
close the classroom in the evening, they will record problems that
are noted on the whiteboard into our request tracking system (HEAT), which means that IT classroom
support staff
are notified. They will then erase your notice from the whiteboard. |
