Classroom Support ServicesIT wants you and your students to confidently use classroom technology to facilitate effective teaching and learning. To this end, we have several services that are directed towards helping you have a positive experience with classroom technology. In-Class Support for InstructorsYour college's own technology support personnel are usually the first place to go for in-class instructional services, especially in connection with myASU. IT consultants are also happy to come to your class to provide instruction to your students on using supported software. Problem Alert ServiceIf we are aware of a classroom problem that may affect your instruction, and if we know you are teaching in a classroom, we will contact you and offer to help with a work-around, including rescheduling you to a classroom that has functioning equipment. We will know you are teaching in a classroom only if the classroom and instructor information are accurate in the student information system (SIS). Ask your department administrator for help if you suspect the SIS information is not accurate. Software Installation ServicesIT maintains software on all public site computers. You can work with IT to see that specialized software you need is available in a computer classroom. As an instructor, you can also request privileges to self-install software on classroom computers. Use TrainingIT offers courses on using technology in instruction, including "Teaching with Technology." In addition, IT puts on the Technology Fellowship Program, in collaboration with the Office of Research and Faculty Development. You may make an appointment with a classroom support technologist for one-on-one training on use of classroom technology. |
