Personal & Instructional Web Space

If you are employed at ASU's West campus and you want to publish information about yourself or publish instructional materials on the Web, you will need to request a personal and/or instructional Web directory, in which you will store the ASU-related Web pages, documents, and images that you want to publish. If you are an instructor you may choose to use your personal Web space to publish course information instead of creating a separate directory.

If you want to create interactive Web pages or use special Web development tools, you will also need to request personal/instructional Web directories on the development (DEVWEB) Web server.

Normally your Web directories will be created using your ASURITE UserID, but you may request that they be created under a different name if you wish. See the "Web folders" entries on the list of available West campus files shares for server and URL access information.

Your directories stay intact until 8 months after you leave the West campus or until you request that they be deleted.

Group Web Space

If your work unit, committee, project team or other group needs to publish information on the Web, you should request a group Web directory, in which you will store the Web pages, documents and images that you want to publish.

If you want to create interactive Web pages or use special Web development tools, you will also need to request group Web directories on the development (DEVWEB) Web server.

Specify the name you want to use for the directory, and be aware that this will form part of the URL that people use to find the information. Also specify the names and ASURITE UserID's of others who should be able to read and write to each new directory. Your group directory stays intact until you or another authorized member of your group requests that it be deleted

Web Quotas

You can store up to 250MB of documents and images across your personal and team/group Web directories. If you are an instructor who chooses to use personal Web space for publishing course information, you may request a 350MB space allocation increase for your Web directories for each course you are teaching.

If you are designated by your department as a web page developer, the quota for all of the web pages you are responsible for will be 1GB.

If you need more space, you may request it. There is no charge for space needed for official West campus pages, but there is a charge for expanded space for other directories.
