Web Services for StudentsPersonal Web SpaceIndividual registered ASU students can create and publish Web pages using AFS space for your ASU-related activities. If your instructor has established a course Web directory, you can also create and publish Web pages for your class using space on a campus server. If you need to or want to create a Web page for a class, ask your instructor if he or she has established a course Web directory. Club Web SpaceRegistered student organizations can create and publish Web pages using AFS space. In addition, the faculty or staff advisor for your West campus student club can request a club Web directory on campus servers. You can use this directory to store the Web pages, documents and images that you want to publish for your club. If your club wants to create interactive Web pages or use special Web development tools, your club advisor will also need to request group Web directories on the development (DEVWEB) Web server. Your advisor must specify the name you want to use for the directory, and you should be aware that this will form part of the URL that people use to find the information. Your advisor should also specify the names and ASURITE UserID's of others who should be able to read and write to each directory. See the "Web Folders" entry on the list of available West campus file shares for server and URL access information. You can store up to 250MB of documents and images across all of your non-class related Web directories. If you need more space, your advisor may request it. There is a charge for expanded space. Your club directory stays intact until your advisor requests that it be deleted. |
