How to change the Font Smoothing
Settings in Mac OS 9 or Earlier
From the Apple menu select Control Panels > Monitors.
Select the Fonts tab.
At the bottom of the Fonts tab you can enable Font smoothing
and set the minimum font size for font smoothing.
Check the “Smooth all fonts on screen” to enable font smoothing.
Uncheck it to disable font smoothing.
In the smoothing size box, set the minimum font size that you
would like smoothed (anti-aliased). Sometimes
you will find that small fonts are more readable if they are not
smoothed. Change this lower or higher (you can also type in numbers)
to see what you prefer.
When you are satisfied with the font display and want to accept the
changes, close the Appearance dialog box either using the menus (File
> Quit) or by clicking the close box.
