Creating a Web Site on the Campus Web

Introduction

IT at the West campus maintains several Web servers that provide space for faculty, staff and sponsored groups to create and maintain their own sites for the World Wide Web.

Web sites could be used for: bibliographies, class syllabi, research in progress, biographies, class assignments, curriculum vitae, family photos, committee meeting minutes, organizational goals, or whatever you choose to share with the world, within the ASU and West campus Web page guidelines.

The Process

• Request Web storage space on the campus Web servers.
• Make sure that you have the current supported Web page editor installed on your computer.
• Take a class on writing Web pages.
• Familiarize yourself with ASU and campus standards and guidelines for Web pages.
• Design, develop, and test your pages.
• If you wish, request that your page be listed in the campus site index or in the list of faculty and staff home pages.
