Las Casas Computing Center

The Las Casas Computing Center is located in the Las Casas Community Center. The Computing Center is available to residents of Las Casas only.

The Center is equipped with networked computers, general-purpose and class-related software, and a printer.

Wireless access is not available in the Center, since residents may connect their personally-owned computers to the campus network in their own rooms via WestResNet.

Access

Las Casas residents all have access to the Community Center, and therefore have access to the Computing Center. The lab is not available for use by non-residents. The Las Casas management staff may make an exception to the residents-only policy to accommodate an ASU event or class if they believe that doing so is in the overall interest of residents.

You will need to activate your ASURITE UserID before you can log on to computers in the Las Casas Computer Lab. If you need help with the account setup process, please go to Technopolis and ask for assistance there.

Please review and abide by our Student Computing Lab Usage Guidelines, which apply to the Las Casas Computer Lab just as they do to Technopolis.

There is an adjustable-height table in the lab for use by people in wheelchairs or by others who find it difficult to use the computers at the fixed-height tables.

Assistance

There is no on-site assistance for students in the Las Casas Computing Lab. If you need someone to help you get started using the hardware or the software, please go to Technopolis, where staff are always available to assist you.

If there are problems with the equipment in the Las Casas Computing Lab, please report them to the residence hall management staff. They will report problems to Information Technology.

software

The software installed in the Las Casas Computing Center is the same as that installed in Technopolis.

You will not be able to install your own software on the computers. If you have software that you need to install, you may use the self-install station in Technopolis.

Security

There is a video monitoring system installed and in use at all times in Las Casas. Information and images obtained by video monitoring will be used exclusively for security and law enforcement purposes.
