Technopolis - Student Computing Center

Technopolis is the general purpose student computing lab at ASU's West campus. If you are a student, you can find the computer resources, encouragement, and help needed to accomplish your educational goals in Technopolis.

Location Lower Level of Fletcher Library

Technopolis is equipped with networked computers, general-purpose and class-related software, printers, scanners and adaptive technology.

Our technology support staff members will gladly help you use everything that is available. You can connect your own Ethernet-equipped laptop to the campus network and use it at one of the workspaces available for this purpose.

Access

Technopolis is available to:

  • all faculty, staff and registered students of ASU and other Arizona Board of Regents institutions. This includes UCC students and people from Northern Arizona University and the University of Arizona;
  • ASU alumni for one year after graduation;
  • Former students who are finishing a West campus course in which they received a grade of "incomplete".

You will need to activate your ASURITE UserID before you can log on to computers in Technopolis. If you are not an ASU student or member of the ASU faculty or staff, or if you need help with the account setup process, ask Technopolis staff for assistance.

Picture identification may be requested from those using Technopolis.

We ask all those who use Technopolis to abide by our Student Computing Lab Usage Guidelines.

Assistance

Our Technology Support Specialists are glad to offer assistance with the equipment and software available in Technopolis.

  • The most knowledgeable support is for fully supported software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. For other software, there may not always be a knowledgeable assistant available. Some software is supported only by your course instructor.
  • Individual  tutoring on fully-supported software is available during selected hours. You may sign up for an hour at a time to get an introduction or more advanced training on Office and Internet browsers. Manuals and training aids are also available on site. For appointments, sign up in Technopolis or call Technopolis.
  • Information Technology also offers free training classes that are open to students. Registration for these classes is by sign-up in Technopolis or by phone to Technopolis.
