Read this!  It's a positive look at what learning spaces will be like in the future.  As you read this article, use the pictures in your mind to pull you beyond your three year strategic plans and find a place to aim for "on the horizon."  It's about vision, and we all need that as part of our intrinsic motivation.

• Library web users expect customization, interactivity, and customer support.  Approaches that are library-focused instead of user-focused will be increasingly irrelevant.
• Librarians need to use technology to offer evaluative guidance to the overloaded information user: "people who liked this book also liked..".
• Co-opt existing technologies that haven't been used in libraries; cooperate in information access.
• Authentication and rights management—which remote users get to use which databases—will be sorted out by librarians.
• Plan now to migrate away from "submerging" technologies.
