E-Mail correspondence from GLB300 students after the semester was over (5/15/02).  Library instruction sessions in class demonstrated how to use Post-Its to organize research for an international business study and a S.W.O.T. analysis.

I did not try the Post-It method. But I did use your idea of sorting items into categories for better use. I just did it  in a more abstract and unorganized way. But seeing your method provided the basis for mine, so yes it helped.

I really tried to use the Post-It strategy.  I couldn't find that many colors of Post-It's, though!  Sorry, I was just amazed at the amount of different
post-it's you have.  I based my organization on the strategy, but never really used the post-its.  Instead I took my printouts and highlighted them,
as you had suggested them.  Then I organized the bits of information onto pages, with a new page for each source.  Then I went through the bits (just
like what you had on the post-its, but on regular paper) and grouped them.  So I used the basic strategy, I just didn't use the actual Post-Its.  I made
lists instead.  It seemed to work about the same and was a very helpful way to do it.

No, I have tried it [Post-It strategy] before and it does not work for me.
