Hi! I am (as you may have seen)
Joy Barnes. I am an undergraduate of
Arizona State University. I love reading and
writing, and (as you probably can tell), I am an
amateur photographer. I am a recent resident
of Arizona, since I moved here in 1999. Before
that I lived in upstate New York (for all of you non-east-coasters, that means all of New York except the
city), only five miles from the Pennsylvania border. I have also lived in Austin, Texas and Salt Lake
City, Utah.
The pictures above are (from top left, going clockwise): A valley in Utah, near Price; Petrified tree, in
Northern Arizona; Native American round house ruins; My dog, Wick.
I also
enjoy hiking, camping, swimming, and other outdoor stuff. The photo to the
right are hieroglyphs that I saw during a field trip for my college archaeology class. I have gone kayaking,
skiing (I hate downhill, but love cross-country), boating, and I even worked at a Girl Scout Camp
(professionally) for a summer. My indoor activities are reading, writing, cross stitching, piano playing,
painting, and drawing. Goodness, I sound like an all around do-it-all! I'm not, I promise. I have issues
with computers. (My brother is my personal Computer Expert. Thank you, Miles!) I have a very
wacky sense of humor, and I get silly after I hit Pumpkin Hour (which is not necessarily at Midnight) without
any kind of drugs, except perhaps sucrose.
Well, just to sum me up, I think I am interesting, if sometimes over worked and underpaid, so everyone
else can just live with it. Thanks for visiting!
