ROLE MODEL
This woman in my life has been an inspiration to me ever since I can remember. On the outside she is so sweet and quiet, yet on the inside she is incredibly strong.

Heredity handed her a disease that has affected her life. A disease called RP is slowly taking her sight. Yet each morning she wakes with some vision remaining, and she takes the time to notice all the things we take for granted. When was the last time you looked at the sunset and really noticed what a beautiful image God has created for us? This woman sees sunsets in all their spectacular beauty because she knows one day she will never be able to see it again. I can't imagine the struggle she deals with every day just knowing that some day her sight will be taken away. |

This woman I know who faces these struggles is so amazingly strong. Sure she has moments when emotions overtake her, but how easy it would be to live a life of sorrow. She could live each day feeling sorry for herself, but instead she lives life to the fullest. She doesn't let this issue in her life stop her from being happy. She has adapted to the life that God has given her and has made the best out of it.
If I could learn one thing from my mother, it would have to be to not take things for granted. I have learned to be grateful for the things that I have instead of desiring the impossible.
