My two fabulous kids keep me hopping.

This is Jessica, an avid horsewoman. That's "Spirit" she's riding.  Her other favorite activity is reading. It's a good thing, too, because so far in her freshman year of high school she has read Homer's Illiad and Odyssey, Dickens' Great Expectations, and about eight other novels. She's a very busy kid! She is also a pianist, and loves to ski and snowboard.

Matthew, my son, was born in Dallas, Texas, and considers himself a true Texan. Now if he only had the oil well or the cattle ranch to go along with the title!  Matt is the leader of the saxophone section in the school band and active on the baseball team. Sixth grade has been fun, but he is counting the days until he can go to high school at Brophy College Prep. He's hoping to play in the award-winning jazz band there. He's also looking forward to classes that are more interesting to him, especially math and science, in the hopes that these will help him attain his goal of attending the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, to become an Air Force pilot.

My four-footed kids consist of 3 cats: Cookie, Chewie, and Marilyn, and two dogs, Titan and Ginger. (We also used to claim 3 lizards and a tree frog as family members, but now they live at Matt's school).

Living in the Phoenix desert, our backyard is often visited by various desert animals. We've had quail, coyotes, wild burros, bald eagles, mallard ducks, rock squirrels, chipmunks, raccoons, cotimundi (a relative of the raccoon), and of course, rattlesnakes, visit us. The mallards like to swim in the pool during daylight hours; the raccoons usually can be found at their pool party around 3 a.m.!!!
