What I am up to:

Currently I am a senior at ASU West. I am working toward my Bachelor's degree in English with a certificate in writing and a minor in Sociology. If all goes according to plan, I should graduate with honors this May and begin the pleasant task of finding a job in the "real world". (No, I'm not scared. My fingernails are normally that short.)

Related Work Experience:

For the past year, I have worked as an editor/reporter for the ASU West student newspaper, the West Express. Here, I have learned how to conduct interviews, background research, write and edit articles for print. I also gained experience in layout and design using the program Quark Express.

Courses in travel writing, writing for professions and publication, creative writing, writing for children and reporting also have assisted in my knowledge of the writing and publication process.

Not-so related work experience:

I also work part-time in the youth department of the public library. Not only can I track down a copy of Yertle the Turtle, but can shelve a entire cart of picture books around a class of sugar-crazed preschoolers without stepping on one of them! Trust me,  its harder than it looks!

Goals:

To make it to graduation! No, kidding. Two jobs and five years of college--I need a break!
