Taught twenty-four, second through fifth grade students in special education resource classroom, included students with varying disabilities.  Responsible for performing direct instruction with language arts.  Responsible for developing, adapting, and implementing instruction and behavior management.  Collaborated with professionals to develop, implement, and monitor individual education programs.  Responsible for maintaining effective communication with families, community and school personnel.

Laveen Elementary, Laveen AZ. 85339. Collaborated with master teacher to develop, adapt, and implement Arizona History thematic unit across all content areas, incorporating data based instruction.  Served thirty-three students in an inclusion classroom.

Westview High School, Avondale, AZ. Collaborated with mentor teacher to successfully develop and implement data based instruction for senior high school students with learning disabilities and mental retardation.  Community Based Instructional Unit for food-handler’s certification.

January 1991-January 2000. Roosevelt School District Head Start.

Responsible for maintaining compliance with the National Head Start Performance Standards and Arizona State Department of Day Care Licensure in the areas of families, children, health, education, and community.  Served students and parents of low-income families, with limited English proficiency, and with various disabilities.  Collaborated with families, school and community personnel to develop and implement educational activities for families, students, and peers.  Maintained accurate, professional program records.  Supervised and mentored volunteers and co-teachers.
