Philosophy of Education

|
In order for the day to flow
smoothly and the students to learn, I feel classroom management is a
necessity. Being organized and
on time is a must. As
a teacher, it is very important to provide a literature rich environment in
the classroom. I enjoy using morning message, word wall, big books,
environmental print, mini lessons and utilizing the KWL process. A child’s
learning should always incorporate a hands-on experience. Centers will set the stage for the
hands-on experience along with math and language manipulatives. It is important to incorporate
science and social studies activities.
Students need to be able to create and view their own
experiments. I also feel that
technology is a developing field that students must learn about. In order for me to be a life long
learner I will look to other teachers for guidance and will equally share
knowledge with them. Not only
should I be a life long learner and bring new ideas into the classroom but my
students should also make learning a lifetime, self-motivating achievement. With my philosophy I will work to
help my students uncover and demonstrate knowledge in an environment of
positive expectations and mutual respect between students and teachers. |
