Project Overview
It is imperative that new teachers be prepared to teach well with technology because they are often the gatekeepers to technology for their K-12 students. It is with this in mind that we seek to prepare teachers for the new millennium. To accomplish this, our PT3 grant is primarily focused on three groups of educators: College of Education faculty, preservice teachers, and inservice teachers.
- First, faculty are encouraged and supported in their use of technology throughout the College of Education courses.
- Second, student teachers are able to attend technology training workshops with their cooperating teachers just prior to their student teaching.
- Third, with the help of our partner school districts we are creating technology rich classrooms that will serve as models for our preservice teachers.
